The Red Bull Station Riots attract top riders to the Allgäu
From 10 to 12 February the Allgäu will be transformed into the absolute hotspot of the snowboard scene – this weekend it’s once again time for the Red Bull Station Riots. The entire who's who of the freestyle elite will be lining up at the drop-in for the ultimate snowboard and party weekend at Snowpark Nesselwang. Once again this year, the riders will show the crowd what contemporary snowboarding looks like. The best thing about the event – in addition to the party – is that locals can compete with the pros. Will we finally see a home win at the Best Line Contest in 2017?
The German-speaking snowboard scene definitely has the potential to teach international riders a lesson. But there’s no doubt about it: the professionals will be very hard to beat from 10 to 12 February in Nesselwang. Several top-class riders have already confirmed their attendance at the Red Bull Station Riots 2017 – including last year’s winner Kevin Trammer. But the Belgian won’t be coming to the Allgäu on his own – there’ll be other big names turning up at Snowpark Nesselwang to make it all the more difficult for him to defend his title. Even the elite competition from closer to home will be a tough nut for locals to crack. For a start, three of the very best German-speaking jibbers are lined up to take part – Benny Urban, Max Zebe and Ethan Morgan. So the second edition of the legendary snowboard festival already promises to offer some heavy jam sessions in the park – with the “Best Line Contest” a definite highlight. This is where local heroes will try to conquer the crown back from the pros and put Snowpark Nesselwang under their own control again. To be able to take part, however, riders first have to demonstrate their skills at the qualifier jam session, which also takes place on Saturday 11 February – immediately prior to the grand finale.

Side events and parties
In addition to the action at the Snowpark there will be plenty of shredding and partying too, of course. Up on the mountain, DJ Smart and DJ Kidd Salute provide awesome beats for a great atmosphere, providing the perfect backdrop to the contest and the open sessions. And over the weekend it’s not just the pros who get to show off their tricks: apart from during the “Best Line Contest” on Saturday, the park is open to all motivated snowboarders not content just to look on. At the “Revival Of The Rebels” locals have the opportunity mark out their territory on Friday 10 February and already show the pros who’s boss in Nesselwang. The motto of the session is: Cash for Tricks! While the crowds freak out at the legendary Station Set-Up, juicy steaks and sausages will be sizzling on the barbecue at the “Chill & Grill” party in the Chill-Out Zone. A specially appointed BBQ Pitmaster will be taking care of the catering for both riders and crowd – after all, even the way to a snowboarder’s heart is through his stomach. At the “Edit Of The Day Challenge”, GoPro will be lending its cameras and equipment to motivated snowboarders who wish to take part in a video contest with fantastic GoPro prizes for the best shots. A brief workshop explains how these Money Shots are produced. After the “Best Line Contest” on Saturday, the action moves straight to the Bärensaal in town, where the after-party is due to be held this year. Eskei83 & Mittone will be at the decks here to wow the party crowd. This is also the perfect setting to celebrate the winners. Locals will be hoping for one of their own, of course – but however things finish, one thing is certain: on Sunday morning everyone will be back at the lift – despite a night of partying – for a fitting conclusion to the Red Bull Station Riots 2017 with the open session “The Park Revolution”.
