    06.02.2015

HOLMENKOL, the oldest ski wax manufacturer in the world, will present its new, high-quality and practical wax sets Nordic Starter, Alpine Starter and Grip & Glidewax as well as its updated classic Jump Ceramic Wax at the ISPO 2015. With these products, skiers are best equipped for every situation, both in Alpine and Nordic conditions.

Taking proper care of skis is crucial in ensuring the ski's durability and good gliding qualities. Waxes that are suited to all conditions and which are easy to use are exactly what the new wax sets by HOLMENKOL promise. They include various types of wax specially designed for different types of snow and temperatures. For ease of application, the sets also include various tools. To facilitate the transport, they come in handy zipper packs. The HOLMENKOL products don't only improve performance, they also protect the material on which they are applied. A well-waxed ski improves skiing pleasure considerably.

For all air temperatures and types of snow: Nordic Starter set
The new Nordic Starter set is a practical, five-piece cross-country set which allows ski preparation for all air temperatures and all types of snow. It includes key kick waxes such as Grip BLUE EXTRA, Grip VIOLET SPECIAL, Klister UNIVERSAL, Klister RED and SyntheticKork, a special cork to apply the kick wax. Grip BLUE EXTRA is convenient for air temperatures between -2°C and -6°C and can be used in a broad range of circumstances. It is suitable both for dry snow as well as on fine powder or artificial snow. Grip VIOLET SPEZIAL can be applied almost universally, from new snow to fine old snow as well as on transformed snow and artificial snow for air temperatures between 0°C and -2°C. Klister UNIVERSAL is suitable for air temperatures between +4°C and -4°C and can be used in all conditions, from damp to icy with old fine snow or with coarse frozen snow. The Klister spreader is included. Klister RED also has a broad application area, from frozen snow to coarse wet snow for air temperatures between +3°C and -2°C. A Klister spreader is included here too.

Alpine Starter set allows quick introduction to Alpine ski care
For Alpine ski care, HOLMENKOL has created the compact Alpine Starter set. This set comprises the products Edge Trick, Ergo Easy, Betamix RED, Ultramix BLUE and a plexi blade for the removal of excess hot wax. The Edge Trick is a pocket tool with oxide stone for the removal of hard build-up and ridges at the edge of the ski. The Ergo Easy, a sharpener with standard angle of 88° and 89°, can be used to remove ridges from the ski and to sharpen the steel edge of skis or the snowboard. It is simple to use and practical so that it can be carried in the trouser pocket. A 40 mm top-quality file is also included. Betamix RED is a high quality base, foundation and training wax that is based on hydrocarbon. It is suitable for all types of snow and snow temperatures in a range of -4°C and -14°C. The wax appeals with its extreme resistance to abrasion and its broad application area. These qualities make it an excellent transport wax. It has an ironing temperature of 125-135°C. Ultramix BLUE is a high quality base, foundation and training wax which is particularly suited to old and aggressive snow. It can be used for very cold snow and is therefore ideal for snow temperatures between -8°C and 20°C. The ironing temperature for Ultramix BLUE stands at 135-145°C. This wax is also abrasion resistant.

Universally applicable wax set for all circumstances: Grip & Glidewax set
The five-piece Grip & Glidewax set is a universally applicable wax set suited to Alpine ski care as well as to the care of cross-country skis. The set includes the products Grip BLUE EXTRA, Grip VIOLET SPEZIAL, Betamix RED, SyntheticKork (a special cork for the application of kick wax) and a plexi-blade for the removal of excess hot wax. Grip BLUE EXTRA can be applied in a broad range of conditions, for dry new snow and fine powder and artificial snow for air temperatures between -2°C and 6°C. Grip VIOLET SPEZIAL can also be used pretty much universally and is suited to new snow, fine old snow or transformed snow as well as for artificial snow for air temperatures between 0°C bis -2°C.

Specially developed for ski jumpers: Jump Ceramic Wax
As special highlight, HOLMENKOL has also improved a classic: the Jump Ceramic Wax. The new formula is a considerable improvement. The wax was specially developed for ski jumpers for training and for competitive jumps on ceramic skis. It is simple to use and has an ironing temperature of 135-145°C. The wax is suitable for all air temperatures and is extremely resistant to abrasion.
