Gravel riding is rarely about the shortest route between two points. Whether it's a day ride or a multi-day bikepacking trip, spending long hours on changing terrain places high demands on both rider and equipment. As ride duration increases, the connection between rider and bike often becomes a limiting factor, when pressure builds up, hands fatigue, or maintaining the riding position requires unnecessary effort. This is exactly where SQlab comes in.
Based on biomechanics, pressure distribution, and individual fit, SQlab develops ergonomic contact points designed to support the body where strain occurs during long days in the saddle. Combined, 314 Gravel Handlebar, 714 Gravel Bar Tape, 614 Gravel active 2.1 S'Qantara Saddle and SQ-Shorts ONE14, create a coordinated ergonomics system for long gravel rides and bikepacking adventures.
314 Gravel Handlebars: Control on Varied Terrain
The SQlab 314 Gravel Handlebar combines compact geometry with ergonomically optimized grip surfaces. A 25 mm rise promotes a more comfortable, slightly more upright riding position, while the 14° flare provides additional control on technical terrain. Since the handlebar begins just below the brake levers, their position remains unchanged. A 10° front sweep, the wave-shaped ergobar, and flat, slightly angular grip areas are designed to match the natural position of the hands and fingers. The ergonomic shape also ensures a secure grip on the lower part of the handlebar. The handlebar is also Di2-compatible.
714 Gravel Bar Tape: Grip and Damping
The SQlab 714 Gravel Bar Tape combines grip, vibration damping, and individual adjustability. Its diamond-pattern texture provides secure traction, while the damping layer reduces micro-vibrations and can help relieve strain on the wrists and forearm muscles. Three rows of integrated studs allow riders to customize the wrapping thickness according to hand size and personal preference. With a length of 2,500 mm, the tape is suitable for a wide range of gravel handlebar widths and is available in Black, Sand, and Green.
614 ERGOWAVE® active 2.1 S‘Qantara: Relief for Long Stages
The SQlab 614 ERGOWAVE® active 2.1 S'Qantara was developed for long rides and mixed terrain. Its ERGOWAVE® shape promotes even pressure distribution and relieves pressure in the sensitive perineal area while helping stabilize the riding position. SQlab's active technology allows controlled lateral movement of the saddle shell in harmony with the pelvis and can help reduce pressure peaks during pedaling. The breathable S'Qantara cover combines a comfortable feel with secure grip and balanced climate management.
SQ-Shorts ONE14: Ergonomics Directly at the Body
The The SQ-Shorts ONE14 was developed specifically for gravel riding. At its core is the new SQ-Pad 14, a 6 mm multi-layer chamois with an integrated TPE layer designed to reduce shear forces, pressure, and vibrations. Breathable comfort layers support even pressure distribution and efficient power transfer. The high-density functional fabric from Italy is lightweight, breathable, and quick-drying. Wide bib straps, a mesh back panel, and non-slip leg cuffs ensure a secure fit. Two integrated thigh pockets provide space for a smartphone, snacks, or a multitool. The shorts are manufactured in the EU and complemented by a repair service.
Four Contact Points. One Ergonomics System.
With the 314 Gravel Handlebar, 714 Gravel Bar Tape, 614 ERGOWAVE® active 2.1 S'Qantara, and SQ-Shorts ONE14, SQlab does not view the key contact points between rider and bike in isolation. Shape, damping, pressure distribution, and individual fit work together as an integrated system designed to support the body where strain occurs during long gravel rides. The system is aimed at riders who spend hours, or even days, in the saddle and require products that not only perform, but continue supporting comfort, control, and efficiency on climbs, gravel roads, and multi-day adventures.
